Hopeful ... Besart Berisha wants a return to Brisbane's best. Source: News Limited
Brisbane striker Besart Berisha says he is pain-free for the first time in three weeks and confident of being fit for the Roar's cellar-dwelling clash against Melbourne Heart at AAMI Park on Friday night.
Less than seven months after playing in the A-League grand final, the Roar's stunning fall from grace means only the Heart are below them in the ladder, with only goal difference separating the two sides.
Both teams are on four points after five games.
Reigning Golden Boot Berisha admits he has been struggling since before Brisbane's 1-1 away draw with Wellington Phoenix on October 21 with groin and abdomen injuries, but has played through the pain.
However the Albanian international told The Courier-Mail the pain from the injury had subsided and hoped he would be back to his best against the Heart after training tomorrow.
"I'll train on Thursday (tomorrow) and if everything stays good, I will be right for Friday," Berisha said.
"I know what my body can cope with when it comes to pain and I'll be close to 100 per cent."
Berisha said there was no panic in the Brisbane camp despite successive home losses and the club's worst start to an A-League season.
"Last season we lost six games and still won the championship," he said, admitting a loss to the Heart would be unacceptable.
"Now the time has come for us to get the points."
