Where would Liverpool be without Luis Suarez? It's been one of the most frequently-asked questions over the opening two-and-a-half months of the Barclays Premier League season.

The controversial Uruguayan striker has essentially been seen as keeping Liverpool's season afloat.

And now we know for certain.

Without his goal-scoring contributions and equally invaluable goal assists, Liverpool would be ... LAST.

That's right, not only would the Reds be winless but they would also be behind the likes of struggling QPR, Reading and Southampton.

With the 25-year-old leading the line, Liverpool currently sit 12th on the ladder with 11 points, from two wins, five draws and three defeats.

On the face of it, it's not all doom and gloom.

But take Suarez's goals and goal assists out of the equation and they would be languishing on just two points.

That means there has been only two games out of 10 where he has not had a telling contribution.

Has a team been more reliant on any one player in EPL history?

Suarez currently sits equal second on the goal-scoring charts with seven behind Newcastle United's Demba Ba and has also contributed two goal assists to the cause.

That leaves just four goals where he hasn't played any part.

Reds fans had better hope Suarez avoids injury or suspension before potential striking reinforcements can arrive in the January transfer window.

Brendan Rodgers's job just may depend on it.
