THE Black Keys song Lonely Boy was the most-played track on Australian radio in 2012, according to AirCheck.

The media monitoring company on Thursday released its list of most played songs.

Only one Australian artist, Matt Corby, made the Top Ten.

"The Black Keys had over 884 hours on radio with Lonely Boy, and that is serious airplay,'' said Keith Williams, Managing Director of AirCheck in a statement.

"The most played Australian song was Brother from Matt Corby at No.5, whereas last year there were no Australians in the Top Ten.

"2012 was a better year all round for Australian artists with 13 songs in the Top 100 and clearly this success was song driven.''

AirCheck also found the most played artist on Australian radio in 2012 was Pink, with Guy Sebastian played the most of any Australian artist.
