ECONOMICS professor Bill Mitchell knows about managing around the demise of his discipline. He moved his Centre of Full Employment and Equity from the business faculty at the University of Newcastle in 2005 into the research division.
Last week, as the University of Western Sydney referred economics professor Steve Keen to the Independent Commission Against Corruption, after a dramatic protest against plans to drop economics as a discipline, Professor Mitchell was busy with new projects.
