Sex-abuse probes put on hold - The Australian

TWO long-running investigations into alleged child sex abuse at two different churches have been put on hold as a result of the NSW special commission of inquiry, which holds its first public hearing this week.

The state's Director of Public Prosecutions has received police briefs of evidence relating to both the Catholic and Anglican churches in Newcastle but will now not decide whether to prosecute either church until after the commission reports in September.
