TAMWORTH Mayor Col Murray predicts "devastation" in his town if changes to media ownership laws mean local news bulletins are broadcast from elsewhere or abandoned altogether.
Mr Murray's constituents almost went down that road as recently as early last year, when the Prime network announced plans to stop delivering its 6pm regional bulletin out of the northern NSW centre where federal independent Tony Windsor's electorate of New England is based.
