NEWCASTLE Knights five-eighth Jarrod Mullen will go under the knife this week and is facing up to five weeks on the sidelines.
Mullen will have minor knee surgery after consulting with the Knights team doctor today.
He has been playing and managing the issue with his knee and played through the pain in last night's 8-6 win against the Panthers.
"It is disappointing to have to make this decision but it will put me in good stead for the rest of the season because if I don't do it now, it will only get worse," Mullen said.
