Meet the Mob: Lenny Quinlan - ABC Online

He'd like to get out more often, for rock fish and oysters at Carrington on the shores of Newcastle harbour. But life is busy.

When he was just a kid, Lenny's dad Malcolm brought the family to Newcastle from Kempsey. His mum, Jaye is a local Worimi woman.

Lenny loves living in the Hunter and rarely gets back to Kempsey these days.

Passionate about helping his community to stop smoking, Lenny believes his dad's premature death was a result of cigarette smoke.

For Meet the Mob we met Lenny at a fishing workshop for kids run by the Department of Primary Industries on the shores of Lake Macquarie at Bolton Point.

Hosted by Jill Emberson, Mornings presenter on 1233 ABC Newcastle, Meet the Mob is a weekly profile of Aboriginal people in the Hunter region of New South Wales.
