Chelle Heath led a protest meeting at Stockton pool yesterday, about 150 attended the meeting to protest the cost of entry to council pools and encourage the extension of operating hours.
Residents of Mayfield and Beresfield also attended sharing the goal of making regular pool visits less expensive.
The group would like $2 entry to the pool for a trial period.
Newcastle councillors also attended the meeting and assured residents the pool is here to stay and the council looks forward to receiving the petition currently being gathered on the issues involved.
