She's a young woman with a busy schedule: part-time work, a full social calendar, completing her fourth year of teacher training at the University of Newcastle and, of course, weekly footy training.
This year she's hoping to be selected to play lock for the Newcastle All Blacks at the Aboriginal Rugby League Knock Out in Raymond Terrace.
Born and raised in Singleton in the Hunter Valley, Sophie now lives in Newcastle, but her mob's originally from around Cunnamulla and Charleville in Queensland.
Her grandfather and his 13 brothers and sisters crossed the border to settle in Singleton and now have a huge family in the region.
Sophie is extremely proud of being the first in her family to complete the Higher School Certificate and go to uni.
Between appointments she made time to catch up with Jill Emberson for Meet the Mob.
Hosted by Jill Emberson, Mornings presenter on 1233 ABC Newcastle, Meet the Mob is a weekly profile of Aboriginal people in the Hunter region of New South Wales.
