Money talks as window of desperation opens - The Australian



THE dance has started, and the moves are the same. Every year, as December draws to a close, most Premier League managers go out of their way to explain their distaste for the January transfer window.



It is a "difficult market to work in" (David Platt, Manchester City's first-team coach, on Friday). There are question marks over "the availability and affordability of players" (Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager). It is "hard to find something to strengthen us," Arsene Wenger feels. It is not the time, says Alex Ferguson, that he wishes to do "serious business".
