Manly back-rower Glenn Stewart was caught up in an armed robbery at the Northbridge Hotel on Monday afternoon.

The NSW and Australian representative was having a meal when four men raided the premises. The disguised men were carrying a rifle, knife and hammer and ordered Stewart and the patrons of the hotel to the ground before ransacking the till.

A manager of the hotel suffered facial injuries after copping a hit from one of the thieves, but Stewart was unharmed. The four men drove off in a stolen BMW, driven by a fifth accomplice.

Stewart, who was shaken up by the ordeal, has a knee injury and won't return to the paddock for at least six weeks.

In other news, Cronulla will give Luke Lewis every opportunity to overcome the ankle injury he suffered in the loss to South Sydney before making a decision on his availability for Sunday's match against the Warriors.

As Des Hasler admitted on Monday, Ben Barba wasn't named in Canterbury's team despite a suggestion he will travel with the side to Melbourne on Wednesday.

Former Newcastle centre Junior Sa'u has come into the Melbourne starting side with Justin O'Neill expected to miss six weeks with a fractured jaw.

Despite his side's 22-6 loss to Brisbane in Wollongong last Friday night, St George Illawarra coach Steve Price has stuck with the same team.

Penrith have named Tom Humble at five-eighth after regular No.6 Lachlan Coote was ruled out for the season with a pectoral injury.

Josh McGuire's calf injury, which will see him miss a month of football, opens the door for either Dunamis Lui or Nick Slyney to come into the side - both named on an extended bench for the Broncos.

Centre Justin Hodges has made a speedy recovery from the hamstring injury that saw him come from the field against the Dragons last Friday.

The Knights welcome back Timana Tahu for his first game of the season, replacing the injured Dane Gagai. Matt Hilder will wear the No.9 jersey while Travis Waddell and Danny Buderus are in the club's rehabilitation ward.

Sam Burgess returns from a one-game ban for Souths against the Panthers on Sunday.
