NEWCASTLE Knights forward Jeremy Smith failed in his bid to have his charge for a head slam downgraded at the NRL judiciary tonight and has been outed for six weeks.
Smith had taken an early guilty plea on the dangerous contact charge but sought to have it downgraded from grade three to grade two.
Had the charge been downgraded Smith would have missed two weeks.
