Rob Elliott deputises in goal for Newcastle after Tim Krul dislocated his shoulder against Sunderland. Right-back Davide Santon (hamstring) is still out while Ryan Taylor, who was hoping to make a return, faces a year out after a recurrence of a knee ligament injury.

MANAGER QUOTES

Steve Clarke: "There are a lot of teams below us who would like to be sitting where we are just now, with the confidence and security of knowing they were in the league next year. The work we did in the first-half of the season is paying dividends now. It is important we don't let the season just drift away... I read in the press that [Romelu Lukaku] is going to Swansea - but I would be very surprised if he ends up there. We're not concerned about losing players. It's a compliment. But if anyone comes for our players they will have to pay a lot of money."

Alan Pardew: "[Yohan] Cabaye is probably my biggest worry. The rest of them are really sound physically and mentally. But Cabaye is our best player in terms of intelligence on the pitch and he needs to play. That's why he has played almost every minute."
