Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman after their bodies were found at Candelo on the New South Wales far south coast, but do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
A spokesman for New South Wales Police told Bega District News that Far South Coast detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the pair, whose bodies were found at 2.10pm on Monday.
Police were called to a premises on Candelo's main street, thought to be the former Black Sheep Baa cafe and store.
"On arrival officers from Far South Coast Local Area Command located a deceased 52-year-old woman and 53-year-old man, in a house at the rear of a shop on William Street," they said in a statement.
A crime scene was established and will be examined by specialist forensic officers.
Police vehicles blocked part of the road between the Candelo service station and post office on Monday night as detectives inspected the scene.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted in coming days to determine the cause of death of the man and woman, whose identities were not revealed by police.
A report will also be prepared for the Coroner.
