ROCK band Guns N'Roses will tour Australia in March.

However the notoriously tardy Axl Rose may meet his match in Melbourne.

Guns N'Roses are booked to play at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in the city on March 17.

The venue has a strict curfew of 11pm to pacify nearby neighbours who have complained about noise from previous events.

Rose would need to be on stage by 9pm - which has been a challenge for him in the past, often leaving fans waiting for up to three hours.

On previous tours of Australia, promoters have pre-paid late fees at indoor venues where Rose would regularly come on stage at 11pm or even midnight.

This has seen punters stranded at 2am when the concert has finished and public transport has finished.

The March tour will see ZZ Top and the local rockers the Angels open for Guns N'Roses.

The Melbourne date also coincides with the end of the Grand Prix.

ZZ Top

ZZ Top's Frank Beard and Billy F Gibbons, with Dusty Hill (not pictured), will support Guns N'Roses.

While on sale dates and ticket prices have yet to be announced, the Guns N'Roses dates are Perth Arena on March 9, Allphones Arena in Sydney on March 12, Hunter Stadium in Newcastle on March 13, Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on March 17 and Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 20.

Guns N'Roses last toured Australia in 2010 but only played shows in Townsville, Sydney and Adelaide.

Axl Rose is the only original member of the band in the current line-up.

The band toured India for the first time this month; they have no dates announced before their Australian shows.

Guns N'Roses have not released a new album since 2008's Chinese Democracy, which was their first album since 1993.

The band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April this year - however Axl Rose refused to appear, leaving former bandmates Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, Steven Adler and Gilby Clarke to perform Guns N'Roses songs Mr Brownstone, Paradise City and Sweet Child O'Mine without him.
